Many celebrities carry the Yorkshire Terrier- Yorkie around in their purses or handbags when walking on the boulevard. The Yorkshire Terrier- Yorkie breed is a toy dog that can practically fit in ones hand. This cute and cuddly dog is a perfect pet for any family.

Lap Dogs

Yorkshire Terrier- Yorkie dogs are considered lap dogs since they are so small they can fit in someone’s lap. The Yorkshire Terrier- Yorkie dogs have a small flat head and come with small sharp teeth. The tails on this type of dog is usually cut off, but in parts of Europe is considered illegal to cut the tail off of the dog. This dog has an excellent personality when keeping individuals company.

Grooming

Yorkshire Terrier- Yorkie dogs have a long silky coat that needs to be paid attention to so it does not mat up and become tangled. The Yorkshire Terrier- Yorkie dogs need to be brushed on a daily basis in order to keep the hair silky and soft. The dogs coat does not shed unlike other breed dogs. If one is showing the dog at a competition, having the perfect coat will take hours of grooming. This dog can be high maintenance when dealing with their coat. It is also wise to brush this breeds teeth on a weekly basis to keep them white and healthy. When the coat is kept clean, it is easier to groom these dogs in order have a silky and soft coat.
